The Zidoo H6 Pro mediaplayer introduces HEVC 6k media decoding and playing (at 30 fps).
The Zidoo H6 Pro also boasts Android Nougat, running over DDR4 2GB RAM and including eMMC 16GB Flash ram. It also supports AC WIFI and includes an 1000M LAN ethernet jack.
There is also support forBluetooth 4.1. On the software side, it can cope with HDR 10 bit decoding and Dolby Digital DTS-HD. Smartcolor 3.0.
The AllWinner h6 chipset was just announced on June 2017 and I wasn’t expecting such speed into materializing inside a real media player, with solidified specs for some months.
It seems I was wrong ,since right now you can already purchase the Zidoo H6 media player at less than 100 usd on Geekbuting.com (follow this link if you are interested).
What about 6K support on Zidoo H6 Pro ?
While the 6k decoding inside the Zidoo H6 Pro might be an interesting feat, it remains to be seen which kind of media (and display) are available at this time to take advantage of this pixel count.
It is true that the media broadcast and distribution industry might have their goal on ever upgrading into better resolutions, but AFAIK the next jump (from 4K at this time) would be right into the 8K resolution path.
The 8K goal seems to be a strong bet for the (immediate) future as Japan has been boasting about broadcasting the next 2020 olympic games at such resolution, for some time now.
But then … 6K capability ? at this time. Well maybe it can be seen as technology “baby steps” towards 8k.

But then I dislike it only has 2gb of Ram, at this premium price. Also the 4 A53 cores are just a bit oldish and sluggish for me at this time.
I am not a big enthusiast of AllWinner chipsets. At least yet, but I keep an open mind: Let’s see how this TV Box behaves in real life, under the different benchmarks the enthusiasts will inevitably throw at it over the next weeks.
All in all, I would still consider buying the Zidoo H6 Pro just for the revamped interface and the bluetooth RC.
