R_volution has received two EISA Awards for 2026–2027, recognising two different approaches to home cinema: a media player for digital collections and streaming, and an upgrade kit for an existing UHD Blu-ray player.
The PlayerPro 8K TV earned the EISA Media Player 2026–2027 award. The Chassis DIY-X700 received the EISA UHD Blu-ray Player Upgrade 2026–2027 award.
PlayerPro 8K TV: digital collections and streaming
In its award citation, EISA highlights the PlayerPro 8K TV’s Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, 8K HDR output through HDMI 2.1, and two internal HDD bays supporting up to 64TB of storage. NAS compatibility gives collectors another way to access a larger movie library.
R_volution’s software brings artwork and film information together for browsing. For a home cinema built around movie files, the combination of storage options and library management is a practical part of the player’s appeal.

Chassis DIY-X700: an upgrade for Sony UBP-X700 owners
The Chassis DIY-X700 takes a different route. It is an upgrade kit for Sony’s UBP-X700/K UHD Blu-ray player, combining a replacement metal chassis with a linear power supply. The conversion reuses the Sony player’s mainboard and optical drive.
EISA’s citation notes the kit’s toroidal transformer, selected power-supply components and installation without soldering. Owners considering this route should check the exact Sony model and review R_volution’s installation guide before choosing a kit.

Start with the way you watch
These awards cover two distinct uses. For movie files stored on HDD or NAS, explore the PlayerPro 8K TV and the wider R_volution media player range. For an existing Sony disc player, the DIY-X700 is a model-specific hardware upgrade.
